First Habitats

First Habitats is the first programme in the STBW Habitat Network, made possible by our Founding Partner, London Box Sash Windows.

A family-run London workshop since 1980, London Box Sash designs, makes and installs timber sash windows for period homes across the capital. Like Sawn to be Wild, it believes good timber and good craftsmanship deserve a long life, and it is supplying surplus timber from its own workshop to make the habitats for this project.

This project is placing the first STBW habitats in gardens and community spaces across South London, starting with STBW-000001 in Raynes Park. Follow it here as more habitats are installed and wildlife moves in.
